Why an electric bike taxi is the safe, cheap and clean way around Bhimavaram
Bhimavaram is a small town with a big traffic problem at the wrong hours. The junction, the bus stand and the market lanes fill up at once, and an auto for a 5 km hop can cost more than lunch. Kinetix puts you on the back of an electric scooter with a verified captain instead. Here is why that is the sensible choice, not the risky one.
Safety first
Every rider gets a helmet. The captain carries a spare on the hook, cleaned between rides, and the ride does not start until it is strapped on.
Before you board you see the captain's photo, name and number plate in the app. Match them. The captain then asks for the four-digit OTP on your screen to start the ride, so nobody else can take your booking by mistake.
During the ride you can share a live link with family, and there is an SOS button on the ride screen that calls us and sends your position. Captains are verified with ID, licence and a reference check before their first ride.
Cheaper than an auto
The fare is ₹20 to start plus ₹6 for every kilometre, and that is the whole fare. There is no surge at 9 am, no night charge and no waiting charge. You see the amount before you confirm and you pay after the ride ends, by UPI or cash.
An auto on the same roads works out at roughly ₹30 plus ₹12 a kilometre once you have haggled. Take Bhimavaram Junction to SRKR Engineering College, about 5 km:
Do that twice a day for a month of college and the difference is around ₹2,000, before you count the time spent negotiating.
The fare you see is the fare you pay. No surge, no haggling, no change problem.
Cleaner air, quieter streets
Every Kinetix scooter is electric. There is no tailpipe, so there is nothing to breathe in at the bus-stand signal, and the motor is quiet enough to talk over. Compared with a petrol bike, an electric scooter avoids roughly 70 g of CO₂ per kilometre; across a fleet doing a few thousand kilometres a day, that adds up.
The scooters charge overnight at the Kinetix hub near the APSRTC Bus Station and go out each morning with a full battery, so a flat battery mid-ride is not something you need to think about.
Beats traffic
A scooter gets through gaps an auto cannot. Juvvalapalem Road at 6 pm, the stretch past the bus stand when three buses pull in together, the lanes around Gunupudi market on a Sunday: a car or an auto sits in all of them. A captain knows which side street moves and which does not. Most rides inside town finish in under 15 minutes.
Tips for first-time riders
- Match the number plate and the captain's name with the app before you get on.
- Strap the helmet. It stays on until you get down.
- Hold the grab rail behind the seat, not the captain.
- One pillion only. For two people, book two rides.
- Keep bags between your knees or on your back, nothing on the handlebar.
- Pay only after the ride ends, in the app or in cash to the captain. Never in advance.
When you need four wheels
Rain, a family trip to Antarvedi or a day of errands with luggage calls for a car. Kinetix rents self-drive cars from the hub: hourly if you pick up and return the same day, daily if the trip runs across days, from ₹120 an hour with a full tank and a returnable deposit.
See the carsThat is the whole case. The helmet is on the hook, the captain is verified and the fare is fixed. Put in your pickup and drop, and a captain is on the way.
